The war in Syria truly is an emergency, and it’s only getting worse.
Pope Francis urges us to take action:
“I ask you to do all you can to alleviate the serious needs of the people of beloved Syria, refugees ever more numerous... Remember in your prayers the church of Syria.”
CNEWA is working hard to alleviate the suffering of Syria’s people, particularly Christians. Christians are a small, vulnerable minority in Syria. We are partnering with local Catholic churches to ensure Christians are not forgotten as Syria is torn apart by civil war.
Father Ziad Hilal, who works with CNEWA in the war-ravaged city of Homs, told us:
“I minister to displaced Christians hunkering down in bombed out, filthy dwellings. Sometimes 40 or 50 people are crowded together. I bring them food, the sacraments and the hope of Christ... Families tell me the church is all they have.”
We can do so much more — if you help. And so I’m asking you, on behalf of Pope Francis, to please make a very generous donation of $20 today and help rush emergency relief to Syria!
