From CNEWA

Egypt

St. Mark the Apostle brought the Gospel to Egypt. While most Egyptians are Muslim, up to ten percent of Egyptians are Christian, mostly Coptic Orthodox. The churches focus much of their resources on the youth — jobs are scarce and opportunities few. CNEWA helps the churches build community centers and clinics; educates priests and sisters; cares for orphaned or impoverished children, providing shelter, schooling, food and clothing; and supports outreach efforts for Sudanese refugees.
